Did you say ‘yes’ over the Christmas holiday or New Year period? Ready for some fab Northern Ireland wedding inspiration? Over 8000 weddings in Northern Ireland every year, now’s the time to ‘set the date’ and bring your’s to life. So many things to factor in, a little sparkler on a band of metal can certainly bring a lot of dilemmas. Sometimes saying yes can be the easy part!
For some Northern Ireland wedding inspiration, here’s a few things worth noting. Location, location, location. Time of year, who to invite, type of ceremony, a country estate, a marquee or a hotel. Most couples don’t like to spend too much time travelling on their wedding day between locations. With only a certain number of wedding venues in your area, now’s the time to start researching. Perhaps you don’t want to travel at all and opt for the increasingly popular civil marriage ceremony in a licensed venue. A third of all Northern Ireland weddings are now celebrated outside of religious buildings, so choice can be limited.
Once settled on the venue and you’ve got your date, photographers seem to be quite high on the next list of priorities. I have a wedding booking for October 2019 that was confirmed via deposit, just under 4 years previous! Being organised definitely has its advantages, not only getting the supplier you want, but helping to avoid any stress. Having decisions made and deposits paid gives you the time to enjoy the build up, plan any outrageous Hen/Stag doo’s and save the money to make them possible. Already I have seen a rise in the number of enquiries since Christmas. Looking for dates this year and next, though once the bridal shows get under way mid January, the 2021 dairy will be in full swing!

Once you’ve consumed all the Northern Ireland wedding inspiration, make sure and enjoy planning your day. Bring on board help and support when you need it. Help from family and friends, positive people who will be honest with you and have your back. Visit locations, meet suppliers, work out a budget. Sleep on ideas, chat things over. Don’t rush into anything because someone’s dangling a carrot with a ‘special’ offer. Invite the people who matter, those that are going to fill the day with love and emotion.
Try and get some rest the week of the wedding. Chances are the night before, you may not sleep that well, so at least aim for some early nights that week. With adrenaline powering you on, it can still be a tiring and overwhelming experience. You’re guaranteed to get some of the best photographs you’ve ever had taken, by booking a professional. Don’t blow it by running yourself into the ground pre wedding week. Sleep helps the body recover in so many ways, don’t underestimate it.
