We have just returned from the scenic countryside of Cheshire where i had the pleasure of photographing my cousin Jonathan’s wedding to his beautiful bride Olivia, our first real family get together since my Dads passing earlier this year. The emotion that we felt was made more surreal when we learnt Jonny’s inspiring Aunt Janie had been killed in a tragic accident three days prior to the wedding. With Janie’s out going personality in mind the wedding went ahead with one special request… to smile for Janie.
Times like these certainly make you feel thankful for family, the good times and the bad are made better when surrounded by loved ones with stronger relationships developing as we get older and knowing we have special people on our side. Since my own wedding ten years ago my wife and I have now both lost a parent which definitely puts things into perspective, though mainly what it has done… is bring us closer together.
I could have wrote about how glamorous Liv looked, the back detail in her dress, her bling shoes, or how handsome Jonny looked in his uniform complete with Guard of Honour ; the history behind the church they were married in, the beautiful reception venue, my 94 year old gadget friendly Uncle Jack who bluetoothed me a photo snapped on his phone, the hospitality we received the entire duration of our visit, the friends we made and friendliness of everyone in attendance, the pink panther, the speeches, the tears, the love and laughter….instead, I’ll let you study the photos below and take a peek at what a fantastic day we had filled with joy and sadness. Oh and lastly…. a huge happy anniversary to my wife for tomorrow and love you Mum xx
